Videos in Brookes

We are contemplating the video situation in Brookes, i.e. when we have videos we’d like to make available (interviews for example, lectures etc): where to upload them to? The choices are: Streaming server: (downsides: not very secure, as everyone with the link can see the video, sometimes not available, not immediately available, not sure about capacity and if it will be maintained in the future), MyMediaSite: (downsides: only for Brookes people, currently DMeLDs don’t have permission to upload to public area, this area should include an ‘unlisted’ feature similar to YouTube, MyMediaSite requires users to log in even when linked to from Moodle, not sure about capacity on the longer run), YouTube: upload to our own YouTube channels (Brookes account) as we don’t have access to a ‘faculty’ channel – as ‘unlisted’ to make it more secure. While it’s nice to have some choices there are maintenance issues, and we’re wondering how to ‘catalogue’ the provision. Also, making the decision where to put videos in first place is always a bit time consuming. How do other faculties  deal with this situation? Are there any guidelines, or is there a person within OBIS who’s in charge of digital resources which cannot go into RADAR (except as links, of course)? Any replies helping to clarify this agenda will be much appreciated.
